Crime-Thriller

Among the highest rated movies in history are many crime-thrillers. Shawshank Redemption, Seven, The Godfather, Pulp Fiction, and countless others stand out as influential movies to the genre in history. They intrigue most viewers due to the fact that they have not experienced the type of lifestyle demonstrated in the film. Crime-thriller movies allow them to feel as the criminal does and explore a new lifestyle of being a criminal through a television screen. The music in these films certainly adds to the mood of the film and creates the film by making the viewers feel the way that the characters do, thus making the film nearly feel real to the viewer. Prezi states that one convection of crime-thriller films that are used is that they establish the criminal as both the main character and protagonist. This method is unique as the protagonist is mainly portrayed as the "good-guy" and the character that is the hero throughout the movie. In crime thrillers, the protagonist/main character is generally the criminal, which brings a new perspective to the viewer.

  1. The hook in your opening is cool. However, as soon as your character sees the news and his face, he probably shouldn't pace around. Because if the press found out from the cops, that means the cops are most likely outside his door. Another crime drama you should watch is Heat, directed by Michael Mann. I think that movie fits your opening more than the other movies you mentioned. Finally, you probably should write more blog posts, because you don't want to fall behind.

  2. I think that your are on the right track with your decisions, however you should know the storyline of your film by now so that you can start producing very soon. I recommend that you select a couple of movies like Pulp Fiction or Heat and conduct deeper research in order to be more inspired. You should find shots that are appealed by, and scenes that intrigue you, maybe you can reenact them to fit your storyline.
